Mission Statement The Mariposa County Economic Development Corporation’s Mission Statement is intended to be both simple and encompassing: “To Promote Sustainable Economic Growth In Mariposa County” This mission statement drives all activities of our programs. 2. The Issue of Growth During the next 20 years, an additional 20-million people will be added to California’s existing 30-million population. This growth will occur as a result of numerous social and economic forces in the nation and around the Pacific rim. The State Department of Finance predicts that a significant portion of this growth will occur within the Central San Joaquin Valley. This high level of future growth in the San Joaquin Valley will have a profound impact on all of the Sierra counties, including Mariposa.
