Though not a historian by training, I have an interest, maybe a passion, out our California history and the people who built this great State. My great-grand father, Christian Borchard, was an early day pioneer in California and I was steeped, at an early age, in the stories of life of courage, resourcefulness, and tenacity of these early day builders of the California that we know today.
